MetroCon 2005 Report

Hello everyone!

We're back from MetroCon 2005...it was a blast! God performed some miracles and opened a spot for Cosplay Kingdom in the main dealer's room...AWAY from the copycat ladies...amen for that! (^_^) We did pretty good, considering that each year the anime hat craze seems to tone down...and the competition seems to grow more...even with some dealers who keep checking out our new cosplay creations to copy them as well...not fair...but we keep moving on.

We initiated Loida in the anime con way with a Sesshomaru hat...

Mama securing the famous Miroku staff in place...

Loida sketching to kill time...

We also got to hang out with Matt, our favorite Naota cosplayer whom we met at last year's MetroCon...he was our inspiration for the Takun-headband...so we had to get our picture with him! This one is for Evetzie! (^_-)v

Chris and Maurice came by our table on Friday and Saturday and they were quite chatty compared to other times in the past...so we were excited about that! On Saturday night we watched Maurice, Johnny and Alex, the newest member of Eyeshine, perform...it was a lot of fun, even with all the technical/sound difficulties.

Even Chewbacca had lots of fun at the concert...even Johnny had to give him a Wookie greeting... (^_^)

The best part of the night? Meeting and chatting with Greg Ayres (voice actor for Yuya) and Luci Christian (voice actress for Ran Kotobuki) who played in my most favorite anime of all time SUPER GALS!

I snuck up to Greg and asked him,"Will you do my homework, Second Place?"(in my best Ran impersonation.) Greg almost fell down to the floor laughing...he then introduced me to Luci who plays one of the coolest roles ever...

"What's up chicken heads! How's it goin'?" It was a riot listening to Luci speak in person...she's my RAN! Too bad I wasn't in costume when I met her, but I got to show her my picture as Ran and she loved it! (^_^) hehehe

On Sunday, Johnny stopped by to say hello...and we could wait to get home...

"Vamonos Loida!"

Playing with the hats while packing up to leave...good convention everyone!

Here are some pictures of other cosplayers that I thought were cool...

I thought this guy was cool until he started asking me to donate money for the Bishounen Relief Fund..."I'm very bishounen and I'm very broke"...hmmm...okay...NEXT!
(bishounen is very good looking guy in Japanese)

Meroko and Takuto from Full Moon wo Sagashite...a very kawaii show that I'm currently watching. I definitely want to cosplay from this show as well...

The cutest Kisa cosplayer ever...she looked even cuter with our Kisa hat!

And of course, I almost died laughing when I saw this Mr. Fried Chicken cosplayer...pretty cool, huh?!

The Wild Hair Chronicles Part II

UPDATE: I have achieved my goal of toning down the neon factor on my pink hair...this is how it looks now...I'm pleased. (^_^)

This morning walking down the street a guy looked at me, smiled and with a British accent said: "Cool hair color!"
I just said "thanks" and kept walking...I wanted to ask him where he was from, but the moment was lost in just that...a moment.

The Wild Hair Chronicles

Okay, so you all know that I have been on a quest of getting my hair really pink...I think I've outdone myself... (^_-) hehehe

I've tried so many times to get the right hue of pink to no avail...so, I decided to bleach my hair (to a platinum blonde tone) and then do the pink...too bad I don't have pictures of my bleached hair...it looked really weird...considering that the roots of my hair were platinum blonde and the rest of it had some pink left over from my last adventure at hair coloring at home...After I did the Candy Apple Red color this is how it turned out...NEON PINK!

Mama almost freaked out and I was not too happy either...I mean, I love the color, on the top, but towards the ends it looked kind of orangy pink...yuck! So, I decided to put some of the Intense Pink color I had left over...

This time tried to get closer on my hair line...since I didn't put any color last time which left me with a blonde hairline...and Elaine and Evetzie were already dubbing me as "albino May"...

The end result...the pink toned down just a little (not enough though)...I smile because I'm crazy like that...

...my hairline is still blonde...and pulled back, my hair still looks too neon... it will be interesting as I head out to the gym tomorrow... (^_-) hehehe

I will try for a second time to tone it down with yet another color...this time one that will hopefully make my hair more reddish and less neon...and if that doesn't work, I'll try to darken it with purple...and if that doesn't work...I guess I'll have to go back to being a full-head brunnette...safe and boring...I pray the purple will do the trick!

Stay tuned for more of The Wild Hair Chronicles...
