New Year New Game Plan

I must confess I have felt so lost ever since moving to Orlando...I thought this was the place where everything in my life would come together...where every piece of the puzzle was going to be put together...but slowly I've been thinking that maybe I was wrong. As I sit down and reflect upon this past year, I can count my blessings, but at the same time I see that I didn't make all the right choices that I needed to make. I thank God that He has opened my eyes to this reality. There's still a lot I need to figure out, but one thing is for certain: I know I want my life to change, I'm being filled with a sense of wanting to lead a more meaningful life...I'm tired of just existing...I thank the Lord for my friend Liza...who suggested that I should read this wonderful book. She was certain that the words in it would speak to my heart bringing hope and inspiration...two things that I seemed to have lost while in the haze of just surviving...of going through the motions... I've only read the first two chapters and I can already tell how this book is transforming my mind...the first step in transforming my life... If I make only one New Year's resolution, it would be just that: to renew my mind...so that the path that God wants me to walk through, will be made more clear to me...so that I stop feeling so lost. I truly want to start living my best life now...I'm tired of the word "SOMEDAY"...how about you?

We're going to New York

The event we've always wanted to go and thought impossible...since we would have to fly to Korea to see Bi in concert where tickets to his concert sell out in minutes... but thanks to Moses oppa, who read in a Korean newspaper that Bi[Rain] would be having a concert in New York next year, we saw hope for us! So, now it's official: we, Las Vegas cousins, Soli, Elaine and Mayleen (Bi's 1st PuertoRican fanclub) will grace the Theatre at Madison Square Garden with our lovely presence where we will sing, dance, and support our Korean hottie singer/actor in his American concert debut! LOL (^_-)v

By 8:55 this morning I was on the phone with ticketmaster in NY purchasing tickets for the event...and we got tickets for the dance/mosh pit area...yeay!!! \(^_^)/
I'm sure we'll make our way as close to the stage as possible...we can't wait...I'm also looking forward to being surrounded by Asian people!!! hehehe It's going to be awesome! Plus, we'll get to visit New York, if for a day and see what all the madness is about! I'm excited and a little scared...and dreading the cold weather...but it will be a new experience I will embrace... (^_^)v

Around Christmas Time

This year my family is gathering for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner and opening of gifts at our home...when we were little, we used to put all the presents on what we called "la mesa" (the table)...the presents would pile up incredibly...our family has always loved giving all kinds of small gifts...so that we have a lot of them to open! (^_^) This year, Elaine and I had to buy presents on a budget, but even so, the pile kept growing...lol Since we don't have a table or any furniture for the living room, we decided to put the presents under the tree...our theme for this year's decoration were candy canes and mints...kawaii deshio? (^_-)v

Christmas time is also a time for us to celebrate it "the Puerto Rican way", with Christmas music from Puerto Rico (like the one playing now!) and Puerto Rican food...the best: PASTELES!!! LOL Can't wait!

Hope everyone has a wonderful time during the holidays and celebrating Christmas with their families and friends...Remember about the best gift we've got: Jesus! Blessings to every one! Love you all!!!

My "Binny" Goes to the Military

I should have reported this when it happened, but I was too sad... (;_;) Now it is finally true...my "Wonbino", my "Binny", Korean actor Won Bin, finally joined the military this past November 29, 2005 for the mandatory 2 year service period for all Korean males... so, I join in with the other million girls in Asia who are mourning for the lack of WonBin movies and dramas in the upcoming two years...and now I sing like Bi[Rain]: "I'm ooh ooh ooh ooh...I'm crying...Iroke, ooh ooh ooh ooh...I'm crying for you..." WonBin's absence was inevitable...so, I guess I'll just have to wait for him to come back...and wish him the best while he's away!
I love you Binny-Boo-Boo! (-3-)...kisssu!

Con Lo Que Cuenta Este Pais

Okay now...I've never been one to deny my ethnic origins...but at the same time I can't deny that I'm somewhat embarrassed at how a large amount of Puerto Ricans are...especially in Orlando, FL... this is not to bash my fellow race...but I just couldn't believe what I saw today and had to post it here...you can either laugh or cry...I just shook my head in total amazement when I noticed this sample document at the tag office in Osceola County. Because the document is in English, someone was kind enough to translate it for the Spanish speaking community....well, what's so bad to be embarrassed about? Well, I should go back to the time I lived in Atlanta, where there were not as many Puerto Ricans as there are here in Florida. I used to get sooooo MAD at some of my friends from other Spanish speaking countries there who used to make fun of me when I would tell them that I was from Puerto Rico...they would tease me saying: "Ah! So you're from Puelto Lico!" At first I didn't understand what they meant, and they explained that Puerto Ricans would not pronounce "r"s and substitute them with "l"s...to me this was unheard of...and so undignified...I never spoke like that nor I remembered hearing anyone do that from back in my days in Puerto Rico. I defended my honor as a Puerto Rican and would swear to my friends that they were wrong...well, I guess I was the one who was wrong...I don't know what happened since I left Puerto Rico 10 years ago...but as soon as I returned to Orlando, I noticed how awful Puerto Ricans speak Spanish! Of course, I'm overgeneralizing...and I still like to believe that there are a few out there who speak it more properly...and that is why I couldn't believe it when I saw the word "FIRMA" spelled "FILMA" on a professional office environment. Dios mio! All I can think of this is like they say in Puerto Rico, "con lo que cuenta este pais" (which may be translated as: "look at what this country is counting with!" ) (>.<)Doh!

Fun Dub

The other day I was reminded of the first anime series that I fell in love with: Marmalade Boy...and then I remembered that I had done a short silly dub with a friend...I wanted to see it again, so I took out my boxes full of miniDV tapes and I was lucky to find it on the first tape I picked! LUCKY! It must've been fate...hahaha

I wish I had editing equipment once more...I wonder all the funny stuff I could be making right now! (^_-)v hehehe Enjoy!

Evetzie's Sweet Sixteen

Ah...to be 16...(^_^)...it was so long ago for me, but I still remember how cool it was to have no other worries but to do homework and go to dance class...because Evetzie knows that her two older cousins know how to throw a party, she enlisted our help to plan her sweet 16 birthday bash: Evetzie's Music Video Stars Sweet 16 Bash...everyone was supposed to dress up as Evetzie's favorite singers...so, two-thumbs up for the ones who did and a big boo for the ones who weren't cool enough to dress up! (>.<) Biiiiite! Evetzie was cute as can be as Kelly Clarkson in her "Behind These Hazel Eyes" video look.
I was crazy as usual dressed up like Gwen Stefani in her "What You Waiting For?" video.

Elaine looked all booty-licious as Jennifer Lopez in her "If You Had My Love" video.
But it was Emmanuel who could pass for the twin of Dave Grohl, lead singer of The Foo Fighters in his "The Best of You" video.
And of course, Evetzie was all smiles, when Matt showed up as Billy Joe from Green Day.

Delightful Girl Choon-hyang

Of all the Asian dramas I've watched lately, I have to say that Delightful Girl Choon-hyang was a nice change! (^_^) I give it 10 chocolates! (Puerto Rican inside joke! hahaha!) Although this drama didn't literally have "brillo", it had everything else...drama, comedy, action, romance...it was awesome...and the best part? IT HAS A HAPPY ENDING!!!! Yeay! \(^_^)/ I am so happy!!! The actors in the lead roles Han Chae Young as Sung Chun-hyang & Jae Hee as Lee Mong-ryong were new faces for me...but I really enjoyed their performances...it was a trip watching those two make silly faces at each other! The drama spans through a long period of time in the lives of the main characters, from meeting in high school and finally overcoming all obstacles they faced through the years...it was awesome...I couldn't stop laughing in some scenes and getting teary-eyed in at least one episode as well...one of the funniest things they did was recreating scenes from other two dramas that I have watched Mianhaeda Sarangda (Sorry I Love You) and Full House...I'm so glad I watched those two dramas before watching Choon-hyang...otherwise I wouldn't have "gotten" these inside jokes...I guess all of those shows were produced by KBS, so they wanted to have a little fun themselves...good job production people from Delightful Girl Choon-hyang! I truly didn't have any expectations at all for this story and it definitely ended up being on my best Korean dramas list! (^_^)

Meteor Garden 2

I had been warned about the sequel to Meteor Garden...but still I wanted to see the show, mainly to see the guys of F4 again...especially Jerry Yan, the bad guy who won my heart! (^_-)v MG2 dragged on and on...I think the story could have been developed way better than what they did with it...I skipped a lot of episodes towards the end because they wouldn't download and I got tired of waiting...but I watched the last two episodes last night and was truly disappointed with the end...Sancai and Daoming Si end up together...but like he would say: "Ca'ma!" Their "romantic reunion" was left for the last 5 minutes of the last episode and it was a little lame... I hate it when the couple has suffered so much through the whole show and then the writers try to fix everything at the last minute...there were a lot of loose ends as well...so, the torture of having to sit through the 31 episodes is not worth it unfortunately...

I still love Daoming Si...and think the guys from Taiwan are the coolest F4 ever! (Will never get used to the Japanese F4 guys in the Hana Yori Dango Japanese live version) (>.<) Uy!

Can't wait to see this Made in Taiwan cutie again in his new drama when it comes out...he'll play a doctor in "White Tower"...sigh...Jerry!Jery!Jerry! (^_-)v

PS
I think he looks so much cuter with lighter and shorter hair! He makes me want to add Taiwan to my list of countries to travel to! Hehehehe!

My First Teenage Crush

Ever wonder what became of your first teenage crush? Going through some of my "old stuff" boxes, I stumbled upon my photo collection of my one and only Angelo Garcia...my first true crush...he was cute, had the voice of an angel, he danced, he spoke English and I would melt for those green "ojos chinitos" (asian looking eyes)I think I still would! (^_-) I was just an ordinary 13 year old girl in love with her favorite guy from the Puerto Rican boyband Menudo. Angelo was my inspiration for many daydreams, poems, stories, drawings...and although I tend to have good luck with meeting my favorite celebrities, I never had the chance to meet Angelo...this has been an unresolved issue in my life... (^_-)v hehehe Anyway, I kept digging through my file and found a more recent article on him, years after leaving Menudo...all grown up...and looking so different than what he used to look in my mind...Angelo isn't the 5'2", skinny kid of my dreams...he's tall and buff...maybe too buff for my preference...but still a hottie...oh, yeah...(^_^)

That night, I Googled him and found out that he even opened up a women's gym in Miami...too bad the gym's not in Orlando...maybe if I could have Angelo as my personal trainer he would be the perfect inspiration for me to finally lose weight! (^_^) hahaha I could also meet him and get it over with...I've waited too many years...although I think I'd be disappointed if I did meet him...since it looks to me that he might belong to the other team... :(

My baby Angelo...I still love you in my heart...you'll live in my dreams forever...even when I'm not digging that bleached hair look at all!!

Bi's New Drama!!!

After falling in love with Bi's acting in "Full House" and "Sang Doo, Let's Go To School", I can't wait to see him in his new drama called "This Love I Want To Kill".

Bi's new drama will start airing in Korea on Oct. 31st. I have to be patient and wait for the episodes to be slowly uploaded and hopefully subbed...but for now the trailer will have to do.

I read the writers of the show were also the writers for "Sang Doo", which makes me think this drama will indeed be all about drama and I foresee many tears to come...Also they are the same writers for "Sorry I Love You"...which I just finished and hated the ending...too tragically stupid...so it scares me a little...most likely the show will end bad...by this meaning, the couple will either end up dead or apart...oh well...no matter what, I'm sure watching Bi will make the show all worthwhile... (^_^) Aja Aja Fighting! We love you Bi!

Paradise Kiss

I started reading the manga called Paradise Kiss...I was attracted to it by its cast of Harajuku-like characters and all their crazy outfits...I stopped buying the manga, because it was getting a little bit too risque for me...hehehe But still wonder how it will end...the cool thing is that I just found out the manga was made into an anime...I watched the 1st episode yesterday...it looks like it's going to be definitely an experimental anime...but I still like the clothes so much! (^_^)v I'll definitely keep watching! I'll definitely add Miwako to my cosplay list! So kawaii!!!

I also love the opening song "Lonely in Gorgeous" by Tommy february6...yes, weird name...but love the beat! (^_-)v Enjoy!

Tom Welling

The girls and I had been anticipating "The Fog" ever since its production days...why you may wonder? Two words: TOM WELLING. (^_^) I have to say that we were not disappointed...at first it was a little hard trying not to see "Clark" in Tom Welling, but I did forget Clark and saw him as "Nick"...so good job Tom! (^_^) You get my two thumbs up...who cares about the movie...it was all about you baby!

Ricky Martin "Life" CD

The new CD has finally arrived...I still have to listen to it more so that I can really get the groove of it...the music sounds amazing though...and I really enjoy the beat to his "I Don't Care" song...although I don't care too much for the lyrics...that's one thing that always seems to bother me...too many songs with too many sex references...that's the world we live in today...oh, well...so, I hope you can excuse the "language" in the song now playing...it's just that the beat is soooo good... (>.<)\ (^_-)v hehehe

New Costume

No, it's not for Halloween...but it's in the works! I plan to cosplay Gwen Stefani in her "What You Waiting For?" music video...and no, I don't intend to replicate that pose...just wanted to share the original picture so you can compare it to the Mayleen version of the outfit. (^_-)v

Smallville Season 5 Premiere

We visited Dylan's Candy Bar at the Florida Mall in search for kryptonite sticks and green m&m's, our sweet treats while watching the premiere of Smallville...I'm excited that a new season has begun...but the first episode was kind of not too exciting...now Clark has lost his super powers...I wonder for how long...at least it looks like he is going to get together with Lana...I hope we can have them together until the end...boo Louis Lane...the producers of the show should have never introduced her character in Smallville...it makes the story totally corny...oh, well...Go crows! Oops! No more high school days... now what?!

Weekend in Atlanta

Thanks to God, the weekend was a success at Anime Weekend Atlanta...we were well received and people really seemed to like what we had to offer at our booth a lot! Too bad my digital camera broke...I wanted to take lots of pictures...of costumers and other cosplayers, but, oh well... I regretted not cosplaying at all...and not being motivated enough to better prepare for this convention...I had been so depressed...but now I feel a little more energized about this endeavor...so, let's see what happens!

Apart from spending time working at the convention, I went swing dancing with Mike at GA Tech...we watched "Just Like Heaven" and rented "Sahara"...Also, Mike got to try on his new wardrobe...I'm glad he liked MOST of it!!! (^_-)v

Here are a couple of pictures taken with my camera phone...

Smiling by Mike's computer...lovely glow...

Catching a gimpse of my own reflection on my sunglasses while heading back to Florida.

All in all, I had a nice time this weekend...I need to rest a little tomorrow and then get in the production mood I guess...I need to do something while I find a "real" job! (^_^) hehehe

What does Your Name Mean?

Heaven

Here's the translated lyrics to "Heaven" the Ayumi Hamasaki song that is playing over and over in my head and now in my blog.

What you offered straight to me
With a smile for the last time
Was just so beautiful
That I gave way to tears
Surely, that day
The two of us touched love
We sought for each other
Lost ourselves at times
And found each other at last
So whatever result may be waiting for us
It's nothing but
Destiny
la la la la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la la la la
In the sky you set out for
Stars are shining tenderly upon me
Stay by my side, my love
Crossing over time and changing your shape
You see? The future we haven't yet seen
Remains here like this
Stay by my side, my love
Crossing over time and changing your shape
The future we haven't yet seen
Remains here
Trust me, my love
You live within me
So I'll never
Say good-bye to you
Surely, that day
The two of us touched love.

One Cool Job

Before you all get too excited...no, I haven't found a cool job yet...but today, thanks to Mike, Elaine and I got to play "fashion stylists" and spent the whole morning browsing the stores for guy clothes...and I thought, man, this could be a really cool job! Lucky those people who get to buy clothes for the stars! (^_-)v We had lots of fun making good outfits and shopping for Mike...can't wait for him to try them on! I tell you, watching all these Korean & Asian dramas has helped me a lot in the guy fashion department...hehehe Love the clothes those guys wear...When choosing Mike's new wardrobe, we kept it a bit on the conservative side, because we need to please the client...but conservative doesn't mean boring (at least to us!)...we put together a bunch of outfits that are looking F-I-N-E! So, Maikeru, thanks for having us shop for you...it was lots of fun!!! (^_^)v (Your new wardroe will probably last you until your next b-day!)

Ravings of a Picky Girl

Okay...I'm starting to feel that maybe I am in the wrong place...I have given up "looking" for a guy...but everywhere I turn, everywhere I go...there's NO ONE who catches my eye (except for the ones who are already taken or gay)...What's wrong with the rest of the guys?!?! Why is it so hard for nice/worthy guys to have a cool hairdo and have some fashion sense?!?!

Before I continue...to those who might be "against" browsing or creating a profile on an online personals site...sorry...but I have like three different profiles in three different sites (if not more)...mostly just to see what's out there...I haven't been able to find anyone I deem interesting, appealing, or worthy to meet yet...and probably I'll never will...but oh, well...what can I say? I'm extremely bored...blame this on the fact that my computer freezes everytime I try to play with The Sims 2...therefore I haven't been able to invest time in the relationships within my digital families...I've had to forget about the people I've created... Thank God that He is not like that! (Although sometimes you wonder if He has forgotten...things seem to move so slow sometimes...especially in the love department! Not that I'm expressing any doubts...I know God has planned everything as best as He can...He must have His reasons why I still haven't met the one for me...in this case the "only God knows" phrase truly applies!)

Anyway, I had a point...let me get back on track...me at the wrong place...okay...See? I haven't come across a single profile of guys living in Orlando (or even other parts of Florida) that I'm interested in...so far, the Aussies are winning...why isn't that a surprise?! I tell you, I must have an eye for foreigners...it's like in my veins or something...give me a bunch of pictures and leave it to me to be attracted to the ones who DON'T live in this country...What can you do? You like what you like...and in my case...I might be single for a long time 'cause I can't afford another trip to Australia, UK, Korea or Japan...God will have to make a way and bring me that foreign cutie close to me somehow?!?!! Aaaaaaargh! Where is he? I need a job.

Korean Drama Review

Sang Doo, Let's Go To School

Because of our recent discovery of Bi, we ended up watching another drama where he plays the main character Sang Doo... at the beginning of the show, I wasn't expecting to be so emotionally caught up in the story. This drama is different from other dramas that I've watched because it had more characters and sub-plots and although it centers around a main love story, it made you care about the other characters' lives as well. All characters are very likable (with the exception of Moon Sera the Sang Doo's uncle - they made me so mad!) and there's a ton of funnny moments in the show, but there's also a lot of sad, very emotionally moving moments.

The main plot of the show centers around Sang Doo, a 27 year old man, who leads the lifestly of a gigolo so he can pay the hospital bills of his "daughter" Bori, a 7 year old girl who practically lives at the hospital while she's sick with leukemia. Fate brings his first love from high school Eun Hwan, after 10 years of separation. Sang Doo becomes Eun Hwan's student, when he enrolls in her school to finish his high school education (and just so he can be close to her). Eun Hwan's boyfriend turns out to be Bori's doctor at the hospital and so forth and so on, the plot thickens. Sang Doo and Eun Hwan have to sacrifice a lot to be together, but also the rest of the characters as well...I think everyone grows making it even so more moving...

We finally watched the end last night and while I had a couple of tears quietly trickling down my face during those last scenes...I started sobbing after watching the end credits...The show doesn't make it too clear as to what really became of the Sang Doo and his first love Eun Hwan...I guess you can believe whatever you want to believe...but even if you believe in the happy ending...just the knowing of all the suffering those two had to go through it's just too tragic for me...I love pure happy endings...even if they're not believable (real life can be just too sad already...)

Apart from the ending, Sang Doo, Let's Go To School was an very good drama to watch, I never got bored, it never slowed down or dragged on, it had lots of flashbacks (a little confusing at the beginning) and it had some experimental moments there that made it different and cool...I highly recommend it, but suggest you keep a box of Kleenex close to you at all times! d(^_^)b

Let it RAIN...

"Nothing happens unless first a dream." I smiled in agreement after reading the message in my fortune cookie on Sunday. This past weekend proved to us that when we dream about something, we can make it happen...I'm still not sure as to which dreams are the ones who make it into reality and which ones don't...but I'm so happy that this dream, a dream shared by Elaine, Soli and I, came to happen...

Not even a month ago, the three of us watched a Korean drama called Full House and fell in love with "Bi" a.k.a. Rain, the actor who plays the lead role in the show. When we finished the last episodes we couldn't help but find out more information on him...so we started doing research on the net...we found out that Rain debuted as a singer and then as an actor...he's like the Ricky Martin of Asia. (^_^)v

Looking for his songs on the net, Elaine found an article that reported on Bi's invitation to the MTV VMA's 2005 in Miami to be happening this past weekend. We suddenly realized that if there was the smallest possibility that this article was true...we would need to go to Miami to meet him! Even when the odds were against us...and even when we tried to move mountains to try to find out if his coming was for real without any solid ground, we had a dream...and in faith we went for it.

I remember Elaine quoting "Faith without works is dead" from the Bible...and I said amen to that as we quickly packed on Friday afternoon. Soli, Elaine and I jumped in the car and drove to Miami to attend an exclusive Ricky Martin first listen party for his new album at Hotel MTV...while we waited for Ricky to show up...I couldn't help but keep praying to God that He would help us find Bi one way or another...
Soli had already called a bunch of hotels trying to find out where he was staying, but nothing came of it...but God is a god of MIRACLES... while we were growing a bit weary, we noticed three Asian guys getting some shots of the party...in a flash they were gone...but something inside of me told me to go after them as soon as I would see them again...and I did... (^_^)

God had sent us an angel in the human for of Bernie Cho...who was making a documentary of Bi and his coming to the States for the MTV awards. Lucky! (^_-)v He was kind enough to let us know that Bi was flying in the next day and told us we could meet him at the airport!

Here are our pictures of the night at the MTV party after the incredible news...and of the day our dream of meeting Bi came true...

The crazy dreamers...smiling happily after receiving the good news...

Ricky finally showed up, but the crowd got out of control...these grown up women were all over him...so this is the best shot we could take...it sucked...but we were too happy that we were going to meet Bi, that it didn't matter that much to us!

After Ricky had left the building, I called home to let mom know the news...

Las Vegas were here! Of course we had to leave our footprints on the logo! (^_^) hehehe!

Soli and I posing with a VMS pillow at the lounge area of Hotel MTV.

We' may be WHAT?! (^_-) wow...I can't believe we made it to an MTV party...

Elaine and I posing at the Surfer Comber Hotel's main lobby futuristically transformed by MTV in Miami Beach.

The next day...

Soli sporting a Bi t-shirt and I sporting new burgundy color on my hair, smile on our way to the American Airlines terminal where Bi would get in from Los Angeles...

We waited for hours at the Miami International Airport for Bi's flight to arrive and for Bi to come out!

The founders of RAIN'S OFFICIAL PUERTO RICAN FAN CLUB IN THE US (^_^)

After all the waiting... we couldn't believe when Bi actually walked out of the terminal...followed by his entourage...I showed Bi a sign we had made that said: "We Love Rain" and he smiled very politely.

Bernie told Bi: "These are your fans in the US and they want to take a picture with you" to which he replied: "Sure"... Soli and I jumped in for the first picture...and Elaine for the second one.

We followed Bi and his entourage to baggage claim, where Bernie interviewed me and Elaine (Soli got too shy) on camera as footage for the documentary he was shooting. He wanted to know how did we learn about Bi and how much we liked him, etc., etc...

After the interview, and before they left for the hotel, Bi was kind enough to pose with the three of us for one last picture and he also gave us his autograph...now safely displayed in our living room. (^_^)v

The moment was like a dream...an amazing reality...we thank God for giving us this once in a lifetime opportunity that we'll cherish forever. \(^_^)/\(^_^)/\(^_^)/
